Free-Air Cooling Estimated Savings Tool According to Gartner, energy represents the second highest operating cost in 70% of data center facilities worldwide. Since cooling accounts for a large portion of those energy costs, many companies are exploring alternative methods to reduce reliance on traditional HVAC systems. One alternative is Free-Air Cooling, which uses a combination of a cooling tower outside the building and a heat exchanger inside to produce cooled, “free air.” Once temperatures dip below 55 degrees, Free-Air Cooling can provide efficient, cooled air to the racks. So would Free-Air Cooling work for you? This Web app will help you calculate your costs.
